Two callings, one mission

Ryan directs US Marketing and Communications for Cru, leading a department of 73 staff who serve ministries across the country, including Cru on Campus, FamilyLife, Cru Military, and inner-city communities. His team uses digital tools and strategies to connect people with the hope of Christ and with Christ-centered communities.

Ryan's own life was changed through Cru as a student at Arizona State. He was challenged to stop hiding parts of his life and to start sharing his faith, which was terrifying at first, then exhilarating. He's had a front-row seat to changed lives ever since.

Alex coaches new Cru missionaries as they raise their support and launch into full-time ministry. She walks alongside these young missionaries, helping them trust God and develop the spiritual, relational, and practical skills they need to thrive. She also serves with Unto, Cru's humanitarian ministry, bringing the kindness of Jesus to the toughest places on earth.

We live in the Boston area, we were married in 1991, and we both got our start serving together in Cru on Campus.

What your partnership does

Partnership with us isn't a donation to a website. It sends real people to real students and real places. Here's what it looked like recently.

Isabella said yes.

This summer, one of Cru's mission teams in Colombia met a student named Isabella at the Universidad Nacional. She grew up believing that being good enough was the way to reach God. When the team explained that grace is a gift we could never earn, something shifted.

"That's the most beautiful message I have ever heard."

She put her faith in Christ that day, one of 16 students on that single trip who did.

Sol drove back on purpose.

Sol and her husband arrived at a FamilyLife Weekend to Remember in crisis. They fought the entire 90-minute drive there, and kept fighting after the first night. Each had been calling divorce attorneys, separately, without telling the other. Then on the first full day their guards came down.

"We've rebuilt our marriage and granted each other forgiveness and a fresh start."

This past May they came back, not to save their marriage, but to go deeper. Ryan's team runs the registration and communications underneath events like that one. Nobody writes a thank you note for a confirmation email that arrives on time. But when that plumbing fails, a couple already looking for a reason to bail gets a broken link at the worst possible moment, and they don't come.

Thousands of students, every winter.

Last winter, 7,223 college students attended 12 Cru Winter Conferences across the country. Students initiated thousands of gospel conversations during outreach days, and more than a hundred people made decisions for Christ. Ryan's team helps make it easy for any student to find and attend these conferences.

New missionaries launched.

Every year, hundreds of new Cru staff raise support to reach their ministry assignments. Alex coaches them through that season, one of the hardest and best of their lives, so they arrive ready to serve. This summer alone, 394 new Cru interns are raising support to report to their assignments this fall.

1,865students sent on summer missions this year
79,000+freshman outreach survey responses last fall
1,700+campuses still have no known gospel movement
